Direct Report: Welding Supervisor

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Report to the warehouse as requested
  2. Knowing Lynn Safety’s “RULES FOR ALL FIELD TECHNICIANS”
  3. Responsible for reading and knowing design documents for each particular project
  4. Responsible for keeping good notes on provided roof plans that are clear and legible
  5. Must initial or sign next to notes
  6. Must make notes on any changes from the design drawings that occur on site and report to Project Coordinator same day.
  7. Perform MIG, TIG, stick and other types of weld based on project needs
  8. Field Install welds, including Lynn Safety Equipment to structures on New Construction and Existing Structures
  9. Perform small welding tasks in the shop as required
  10. Select proper fillers for jobs based on previous experience or project instructions
  11. Coordinate with Project Coordinator and other Field Technicians for efficient installations
  12. De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
  13. Setting up components for welding according to specifications
  14. Operate Angle Grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  15. Align Components using calipers, clamps, etc.
  16. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
  17. Test & inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  18. Maintain equipment in a good condition that does not compromise safety
  19. Delivery & Pickups as scheduled/determined by Welding Supervisor
  20. Responsible for taking care of company property such as tools, welding equipment, radios, too bags, etc.
  21. If proper care is not taken of company property, appropriate actions will be taken
  22. Responsible for reporting damaged tools or property to Welding Supervisor
  23. Responsible for filling out Incident Report for lost or damages of Lynn Safety property or customer property and submitting to Welding Supervisor
  24. Turning in job tickets to Operations Team the day of completion of that project
  25. Job tickets are to be turned in the day of completion for that project/task
  26. Gather information and reporting to Project Coordinator or Welding Supervisor on projects as requested/scheduled
  27. Walk the job with the Welding Supervisor and Project Coordinator when requested
  28. Knowing and understanding what tools are used for and the appropriate use of tools
  29. Installing equipment specified in design and engineered drawings specific to what is called out for in design drawings
  30. If discrepancies exist between onsite conditions and design drawings, report to Supervisor immediately for determination in next step
  31. Responsible for taking photos each day while on site
  32. Responsible for taking dimensions in the field of equipment installed or equipment needed to be replaced
  33. Responsible for filling out tracking receipts if one has not been provided when delivering or removing equipment from a client’s building
  34. Assisting the Supervisors and Office Staff in keeping the warehouse clean

Welding Skills Required

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • 3+ years experience operating as a commercial welder
  • Operating welding generator
  • Current & valid certification, WPQ test certificate
  • Experience working on construction sites with power tools and manual tools
  • Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedures
  • Ability to travel to jobs located up to 300 miles away
